Low frequencies sound taut, potent and powerful – despite not being particularly full-bodied. During the opening, bloody chapter of Ninja Assassin, effects fly between channels with laser-guided precision and the listener is left in no doubt as to where bullets start and finish. We’ve come to expect a direct, punchy, precise sound from Pioneer’s home cinema amps and the VSX-9210 sounds very familiar. Thankfully, Pioneer’s own iControlAV2 app for iPhone and iPad not only looks sophisticated, it also makes good use of your iPod/iPad’s touchscreen and allows you to alter all manner of settings with a prod or swipe of your finger. Operating the various features can be a slight struggle on the supplied remote control, as those with generously sized fingers try to come to terms with the array of minuscule buttons. You can alter individual aspects of the picture such as sharpness, brightness and contrast or go with the supplied presets for different display devices such as a projector or plasma television. Video upconversion and upscaling are included and work well. And it gives you time to make a quick cuppa… It’s a long, drawn-out process compared with some rivals, but the results are among the most accurate. Speaker set-up is done with the aid of Pioneer’s own MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System). (Like the Denon AVR-1912, you can also stream from subscriber-based services such as Spotify Premium.)Īs with the Denon, you sacrifice a little bit of detail and refinement to go the wireless route, but you’ve still got the option of hard-wiring your device to the dedicated USB input on the amp’s fascia. To help soften that potential blow, Pioneer has chosen to include AirPlay in its arsenal, so you can take advantage of wireless streaming from a wide range of compatible Apple devices, including the iPad. In fact, the only real hit is on the HDMI input count, the Pioneer has to make do with four, where some competitors are luxuriating with six. ![]() But, we’re pleased to report, the gaps aren’t as cavernous as you might think. ![]() This amp is cheaper than many of its rivals, so you might expect the Pioneer to have a hole or two in its specification sheet. You’re free to choose from any map you fancy and set the game’s conditions to your liking. It’s here that you’ll get the most bang for your buck. I played through a few of the campaign levels before turning my eye towards the main meat of the game: sandbox mode. The idea of working hard to create a country only to give it up and start again on another map once I’ve hit my goals doesn’t sit well with me. I’ll be honest – this doesn’t interest me all that much. Tropico 6 ships with a full single player campaign consisting of over a dozen different maps with their own goals and stories. I found that with enough fiddling around in the game’s menus, I was able to figure things out whenever I got a little lost. To the game’s credit, it does offer a very robust tutorial that covers just about everything you’ll need to know to make you a great, glorious leader of the people, but the sheer amount of information being thrown at you means that you’ll no doubt forget some of that info by the time you actually get into the game. Even though I’ve played the games before and given the game a whirl on the Xbox One via the Game Preview program, I was still left scratching my head at times. ![]() I didn’t, but that’s because I’ve got a bit of experience with Tropico in general. It’s not as simple as that, it’s actually a little more complicated than the game saying “have at it, son” and then leaving you alone.įirst things first, if you’re new to the Tropico series, for the love of democracy, please, take half an hour to play the tutorial. Tropico 6 puts you in the hot seat as you attempt to run your new country. You can have a go, though, and you can do it all without having to get on your knees for your Oxbridge professor. Whether your country’s leader is a Twitter whore, a little posh bitch or a comedian, you’ve no doubt wondered “if they can do it, why can’t I?” The simple answer there is money and influence. Most Anticipated Feature: Playing the co-op mode.If you say to me that you’ve never thought about how the country would be better with you in charge, you’re a liar. Support GameWatcher and order Tropico 5 for the PC from Games Republic where it’s priced at £29.99. Either way, you’re in for a great experience. If you’ve got a great computer and some friends to play the game with already, maybe invest in the PC version. Tropico 5 works well enough with a controller that you’ll still have a good time, and judging by our review, the game is well worth playing. ![]() If you haven’t tried the PC version of Tropico 5 and you own an Xbox One, you might want to consider picking up the console version. We haven’t played a Tropico game since Tropico 3, but it’s safe to say our curiosity in the latest game has certainly been piqued. Of course, you still have the option of playing the campaign, but if you wanted to jump in and out of the game, sandbox mode might be preferable. Sandbox mode seems perfect for Tropico 5 on Xbox One, where you can set your own win conditions and play out the game any way you see fit. It’s a different experience playing the game on a sofa rather than sitting at a desk. That being said, while Tropico 5 can certainly be played using a controller, personally we believe it just works better using a keyboard and mouse. The game’s ability to pause time whenever you want helps a lot, you won’t find yourself being overwhelmed due to the requirements of the game and your familiarity with the controls. ![]() Playing Tropico 5 on an Xbox One controller was a surprisingly enjoyable experience, far more pleasant than playing Dungeons 2 on a controller. The biggest change from the PC to Xbox One comes from the control scheme. Release DateĪvailable on Xbox One from 27th May 2016. Apart from this, the Tropico 5 Penultimate Edition includes the same content that was re-leased for the PC edition. On top of this, the Xbox One edition also promises five exclusive bonus maps. What’s new?Īs mentioned above, the Penultimate Edition will launch with the full version of Tropico 5, along with five DLC packs, including ‘The Big Cheese’, ‘Bayo del Ofato’ and ‘Hostile Takeover’. If you haven’t picked up Tropico 5 yet and you own an Xbox One, now may be your chance to pick up the Penultimate Edition of the renowned management sim. While the majority of the facility is built around some of the most advanced technology on the planet, other parts are shown to be in disrepair, again hinting at the incredible size of the complex. Black Mesa is the award winning fan-made re-imagining of Gordon Freemans landmark journey through the Black Mesa Research Facility. ![]() If you are visiting our non-English version and want to see the English version of Black. Structureīlack Mesa is a large facility, and the fastest way of moving between its various sectors is by tram, a small part of which the player (as Gordon Freeman) experiences in the opening sequence of Half-Life. What does BMRF mean BMRF stands for Black Mesa Research Facility. In order to escape the facility you have to explore your environment, solve tricky puzzles and fight your way out. ![]() In Half-Life, a teleportation experiment at Black Mesa accidentally initiates a dimensional resonance cascade which devastates the complex and leads Gordon Freeman to inadvertently bring Earth to the attention of the Combine Empire. As a witness of the Black Mesa incident you will find yourself stranded inside a secret prototype laboratory at the borders of the Black Mesa Research Facility: the Damocles Prototype Laboratory. Built into and over several decommissioned nuclear missile silos, Black Mesa is the site of broad scientific research relating to theoretical, quantum, and particle physics, applied mathematics, robotics, genetics, biotechnology, trans-dimensional travel, teleportation, and other classified subjects. The Black Mesa Research Facility is a private research and defense contractor comprised of a massive complex built within the mountains of New Mexico, and is the setting of the original Half-Life, as well as Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Blue Shift, and Half-Life: Decay. ![]() ![]() In the case of the former, information also is required to estimate the critical dry-period interruption value, defined as the duration of a dry period at relative humidities <95% that will result in a 50% reduction in disease compared with a continuous wetness period. Operationally, infection models may use hourly or daily weather inputs. The value of W min varied from 1 to 48 h and was relatively uniform for species in the genera Cercospora, Alternaria, and Puccinia but less so for species of Phytophthora, Venturia, and Colletotrichum. Validation yielded an average correlation coefficient of 0.83 and a root mean square error of 4.9 h, but there was uncertainty about the value of the input parameters for some pathogens. The model was validated with published data from 53 controlled laboratory studies, each with at least four combinations of temperature and wetness. ![]() The minimum wetness duration requirement ( W min) is the number of hours required to produce 20% disease incidence or 5% disease severity on inoculated plant parts at a given temperature. The model uses a temperature response function which is scaled to the minimum and optimum values of the surface wetness duration requirement. These inputs are available for many pathogens or may be estimated from related pathogens. The model developed in this study can use inputs based on subjective estimates of the cardinal temperatures and the wetness duration requirement. Most existing infection models require a background epidemiological data set, usually including laboratory estimates of infection at multiple temperature and wetness combinations. The model is designed primarily for use in forecasting pathogens that do not have extensive epidemiological data. In this study, a simple generic infection model was developed for predicting infection periods by fungal foliar pathogens. ![]() Qt and respective logos are trademarks of The Qt Company Ltd. The deployment procedure for each platform is different and they are covered in greater detail in their platform pages. The documentation for each module contains detailed information about any exceptions the module has from the general platform and configuration support as described on this page. For example, as Qt WebEngine has Chromium as a third-party dependency, platform or configuration limitations upstream also apply to Qt WebEngine. Individual modules might be available only on some platforms, or they might not support all configurations. However, the intention is to provide the most widely-used reference configurations for the developer's convenience. Note: All the supported configurations are not provided as binary packages in the Qt installer. ![]() ![]() For more information, visit the Getting Started with Qt page. You can download the Qt 5 installers and source packages from the Downloads page. The Qt Company, Qt partners, open source projects and community users are also able to provide assistance with various different platforms and configurations. The Qt Company provides support for the officially supported platforms and configurations. The reference configurations are subject to change during the lifetime of a Qt release. However, Qt may run on configurations other than those actively tested on, and additional configurations may be raised to tested state, if sufficient effort is made to bring continuous integration to an acceptable state for that particular configuration. Significant errors discovered in tested configurations can impact release dates.Īny configurations not listed above are not actively tested by the Qt Project. Errors or bugs discovered in these platforms are prioritized for correction. They are subjected to unit test suite and other internal testing tools on a frequent basis (prior to new version releases, source tree branching, and at other significant period points in the development process). Reference configurations are the primary focus of development.
